Safety & Compliance Officer
Location: This on-site role is an immediate requirement, located at 3 & 6 Kilmartin Pl, Uddingston, Glasgow G71 5PH.
Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 DOE plus Company Pension Scheme, 30 days holiday entitlement per year and further benefits available including flexi-time and a generous bonus scheme.
Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Aerotron Avotec Ltd is an aircraft component maintenance company working in the civilian and military aviation sectors. Based in Uddingston, the company specialises in the repair and overhaul of Electrical & Mechanical components for the aerospace industry.

The Safety & Compliance Officer role involves:
• Liaising with Safety Manager, Compliance Monitoring Manager and Organisation’s Management on Safety & Compliance matters.
• Carrying out internal compliance, product and operational audits against various regulatory and quality requirements.
• Preparing clear and concise audit reports that communicate findings and recommendations.
• Follow up and closure of any non-conformances identified.
• Liaison with suppliers and potential suppliers for evaluation and re-evaluation of their ability to supply materials as required by Aerotron.
• Update and release of Internal Quality Management Procedures and related documentation.
• Identifying, analysing, and evaluating potential risks for the organisation on safety and business risk.
• Processing administrative tasks for Capability List amendments
• Gathering and reporting of data on Safety & Compliance performance to the Safety Review Board
• Being part of the Safety Action Group to review issues and make recommendations on safety matters.
Essential Criteria:
• A good working knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office software
• Understanding of the ISO9001 series of quality standards requirements
• Internal Auditing techniques
• Understanding of Root Cause Corrective Action Investigation techniques.
• Ability to work under own initiative to complete tasks to timescales.
• Organised and methodical who can work accurately with good attention to detail.
• Good communication, written and verbal skills
Desirable Criteria:
• Preferred experience working with, and understanding, Aviation Industry Airworthiness Regulations, including UK CAA & EASA Part-145
• IRCA certified Internal Auditor qualification.
• Having worked in a Safety Management System environment.
• Understanding of Technical Data and document controls
