Deputy Manager/ Deputy Care Manager – Papworth Trust are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our Ipswich Care Team, which provides support to 8 adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs on a full-time permanent basis.

About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in ensuring that our customers receive person-centred care in our supported living service.  You will be developing and managing a diverse team to deliver a safe and high-quality service, in line with our values, regulations and best practice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the implementation and review of individual risk assessments and support plans.
  • Conducting regular staff supervisions and performance assessments to ensure high standards of care.
  • Facilitating team meetings for open communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Acting as a liaison between customers, families, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies to maintain effective communication.
  • Supporting the Registered Manager in the overall management of the care service, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.

About you:

As the successful Deputy Manager, you will have experience of leading and motivating staff in a similar environment, supporting customers with all aspects of their daily living in a manner that respects their dignity and promotes independence, choices and privacy. You will have comprehensive knowledge of working with and supervising services for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs as well as an in-depth knowledge of the CQC regulatory requirements and the principles of high-quality, person-centred care. It is essential that you have strong administrative and IT skills and be experienced in planning and organising work and the use of auditing processes to ensure appropriate protocols are met.  A Level 5 NVQ in Adult Health and Social Care or equivalent will be an advantage, and you should be able to travel between services and to meetings and training as needed.
